Ramadi (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi authorities imposed a curfew in the city of Ramadi, with effect from Thursday evening until further notice in conjunction with the progress of the extremist fighters in Anbar battles against the Iraqi Army.

On Friday, according to a security source in the police command of Anbar province, the Iraqi security forces imposed a comprehensive curfew in the city of Ramadi until further notice.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com “the security forces imposed a ban on roaming vehicles, motorcycles and people in the general areas of the city of Ramadi,” noting that “the ban began from one o’clock at night until further notice.”

The security source, who requested anonymity, added that, “This ban came after receiving intelligence information stating the intention of terrorist groups to target the security forces and citizens in the city of Ramadi.”
