URGENT: Turkey bows to international and Kurdish pressure, allows Peshmerga to transit through to fight ISIS in Kobanî

Ankara (IraqiNews.com) On Monday Turkey announced agreeing to facilitate the movement of Kurdish Peshmerga forces through its territory to join the other forces fighting against the militants of the so-called Islamic state in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) in the Syrian town of Kobani.

According to the New York Times newspaper, Turkish Foreign Minister, Chaoosh Ooglua said during a press conference in Ankara on Monday: “The Turkish government has been helping the Peshmerga forces in the process of crossing the border to Kobanî. ”

The newspaper added that Ooglua did not indicate how and when the Peshmerga forces will cross to Kobanî City, but an official at the Turkish Foreign Ministry confirmed to the newspaper that their cross through the Turkish territory will be immediately.
