MNF division HQ moved to southern Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: A Multi-National Force (MNF) division headquarters has been inaugurated at Basra International Airport following the withdrawal of British forces from their bases in the province. “The headquarters of the MNF, 10 th Mountain Division, has been moved from Diwaniya province to Basra after the withdrawal of British forces from their base at the airport,” Maj. Jeffrey Smith, the civil military operations officer in charge for the 4th BCT Patriot Brigade, said. In coordination with Iraqi security forces, the division conducts anti-insurgency operations in the provinces of Basra, Missan, Thi-Qar, Wassit, Muthanna, Karbala, Diwaniya, Najaf, and Babel, Jeffrey noted.
