7 wanted men arrested, IED defused in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Policemen on Sunday arrested seven men wanted on “terrorist and criminal” charges in a security operation in different areas of Basra, where they also defused an improvised explosive device (IED) inside a park in the central part of the province, the city’s police information office said. “Police forces conducted search raids in various areas of Basra, arresting seven wanted persons and seizing unlicensed vehicles,” the office told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The anti-bomb squad in the city also defused an IED emplaced inside al-Bijari park in central Basra,” it added.
