Iraqi flag raised in Jurf al-Sakher district

Babel (IraqiNews.com) Military source within the Iraqi Army/ 8th Division assured on Friday that the security forces supported by volunteers raised the Iraqi Flag above the buildings of Jurf al-Sakher and Ruwai’eya districts of northern Babel.

“After heavy clashes with the militants of the Islamic State in Jurf al-Sakher and Ruwai’eya areas, the ISF managed to liberate both areas and control the governmental buildings there,” security source reported to IraqiNews.com, noting “The clashes resulted in killing more than 60 ISIL militants and injuring 33 others.”

“The ISIL militants escaped towards Farsiya and Hujair areas to be targets for the Iraqi Air Force,” the source added. /End/
