American jailed for selling Saddam Hussein’s weapons in US
(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, US Federal Court sentenced an American citizen to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine for possessing and attempting to sell weapons believed to be owned by the family of Iraq’s former president, Saddam Hussein.
Indian newspaper ‘Indian Express’ wrote in a report followed by IraqiNews.com, “A 76-old man, called Howard Blumenthal, was arrested with 7 weapons. Their worth was estimated between 250-350 thousand dollars. One of the weapons was a semiautomatic, Magnum 375 model—and it had a gold medal with the letters QS attached to it; which supposedly refers to the initials of Qusay Saddam Hussein’s name,” adding that, Blumenthal is sentenced to five years in prison and a fine of $5,000.
The newspaper added that other weapons included 2 Magnum pistols, a Caliber pistol, two rifles, and a 45 Caliber pistol with a golden handle.
