Two million people displaced in Iraq due to violence

(IraqiNews.com) With the continual battle against extremists in Iraq, the International Organization for Migration, based in Geneva, launched a report reveals the reality of displaced Iraqis.

The report showed an increase in the number of internally displaced civilians; it exceeded two million displaced people this year.

Nineveh province ranked the first in the number of homeless at more than 900.000, where 82 percent of the population fled due the violence throughout the year.

Anbar province is the second largest province in terms of displacement, of more than 500 thousand people, 67 percent of whom have been displaced within the province itself. Now, the largest communities for the homeless are Kurdistan and the central region.

The report pointed out that, since the beginning of September nearly 220.000 people were displaced due to clashes between Iraqi forces and armed groups in the provinces of central and northern center of the country.
