(IraqiNews.com) On Monday, the Ministry of Human Rights said in a statement, that over 2,700 people, mostly soldiers, are missing since the ISIS group assault began in last June.

The ministry said, that at least 2,700 people, mostly soldiers, are missing as a result of ISIS attacks, which started in June 2014, adding that this number is based on reports by relatives and subsequent checking with relevant sources.

“The number is likely higher than this,” ministry spokesman Kamel al-Amin said.

The statement showed that more than half of those registered as missing by the government are soldiers who were kidnapped from Speacher base, which the ISIS group captured about six months ago.

“The number of missing soldiers from Speacher base alone has reached 1,660, from Badush prison 487, and there are 554 missing from other areas, including 38 women,” the statement added.
