Iraqi forces kill 23 ISIS fighters, including senior leaders in southern Tikrit
Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) On Thursday, a source in Samarra Operations Command said, that 23 ISIS elements, including senior leaders, have been killed during security operations in southern Tikrit.
The source informed IraqiNews, “A military force from the 17th division has managed to kill 23 ISIS elements, and wound many others,” pointing out that, “The ISIS casualties included a number of senior leaders within the group.”
“Most of their casualties were transported by civil vehicles to al-Mosul,” the source added.
Earlier today, an official source announced, that the ISIS governor (Wali) of Yathrib area, known as Abu Sufyan al-Saudi, was killed during clashes with security forces at the outskirts of Yathrib in southern Tikrit.
