15 wanted men arrested in Kirkuk raids

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Fifteen wanted men on Sunday were arrested during a wide-scale security operation in Kirkuk province, according to a local military source. “During an early hour on Sunday morning, security forces in the province conducted a wide-scale security operation that covered 62 villages in Kirkuk province,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “A cluster bomb and a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) were defused during the operation,” the source noted, adding that an arms cache was found between the villages of al-Iwadiya and albo Marwah. “Humanitarian and medical supplies were distributed in some villages,” according to the source. Kirkuk, an oil-rich and mixed city of Kurds, Turkmen, Christians and Arabs, lies 250 km north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. SS (P) 1
