IED wounds 2 cops in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Two personnel from the emergency police on Saturday were wounded when an explosive device went off in southern Kirkuk city, according to a local source. “On Saturday morning, an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near an emergency police patrol vehicle on al-Korneesh St. near al-Bahrain marketplace, southern Kirkuk, wounding two patrolmen,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The explosion caused damage to the vehicle,” the source noted, providing no further details. Kirkuk, an oil-rich and mixed city of Kurds, Turkmen, Christians, and Arabs, lies 250 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. SS (P) 1
