Abadi condemns the Charlie Hebdo massacre in Paris

(IraqiNews.com) On Wednesday, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi denounced today’s attack in the French capital Paris, saying that “terrorism” threatens all countries of the world and not only Iraq.

Abadi said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “The terrorist attack that took place today in the French capital Paris is condemned by Iraq, that has suffered so much at the hands of terrorist groups,” adding that, “This confirms that terrorism threatens all countries of the world and not only Iraq. ”

Abadi called for “the need for concerted international efforts to fight terrorism,” pointing out that, “Iraq is currently engaged in a fierce war against terrorism, which is one, whether in Iraq or in France or the rest of the world,” and that “everybody should support Iraq in this war through desiccating the sources of terrorism, as well as stopping the funding and fight extreme ideas that have nothing to do with Islam.”

On Wednesday, President Fuad Masum condemned the attack on the newspaper building in the French capital Paris, calling for consolidating and activating the international effort in the war against “terrorism” to eliminate it.

French authorities announced a state of maximum alert after the attack on the headquarters of the newspaper ‘Charlie Hebdo’ in the French capital Paris, which left 11 deaths and many injuries.
