Man arrested for planting IED in Samawa

MUTHANNA / IraqiNews.com: Police forces in Muthanna arrested a man for planting an improvised explosive device (IED) at the southern entrance of Samawa city, which exploded near a U.S. convoy earlier today. “The suspect was arrested in light of intelligence reports,” Muthanna’s police director, Kadhem Abu al-Heel, told IraqiNews.com news agency. An investigation is currently underway, the official noted. Earlier today, a roadside explosive device detonated at the southern entrance of Samawa city while a U.S. convoy of four vehicles was passing the location, but no casualties resulted.
