Mosul blast leaves officer killed, 2 wounded

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: An officer was killed and a soldier and a civilian wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off near an Iraqi army patrol in eastern Mosul city on Sunday, a local police source said. “The IED exploded near the patrol at al-Sues intersection, eastern Mosul , leaving a traffic officer in the rank of captain killed and an Iraqi patrol soldier wounded,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “A civilian man who happened to be near the blast site was also wounded in the attack,” he added.
