IFA protests assigning UAE referee for Iraq Vs. Palestine match within AFC Cup

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Football Association presented an official protest for the organizing committee of the Asian Cup in Australia against assigning the Emirati referee Mohammed Abdullah to lead the match of the Iraqi team versus Palestinian counterpart to be played next Tuesday within the third round of the group stage of the Asian Cup 2015 in Australia.

Head of the Iraqi delegation for the champion Ali Jabar stated to IraqiNews.com “The Iraqi protest presented to the organizing committee of the championship was based on the mechanism of qualifying for the next stage since Iraq might qualify to meet the UAE team in the knock out stage.”

“IFA will wait for the reply of the organizing committee on the Iraqi protest and then will decide its stance,” Jabar added. /End/
