Kurdish Peshmerga forces approaching central Mosul, says KDP
(IraqiNews.com) The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) led by President of the Kurdistan region, Massoud Barzani, announced Wednesday, that 30 ISIS elements including military commanders have been killed in air strikes in Mosul.
Saeed Mumozini, the KDP spokesman in Mosul, told IraqiNews, “The international coalition warplanes have carried out air strikes on ISIS sites in the area of al-Shallalat, located northern Mosul,” noting that, “The aerial operation resulted in killing 30 ISIS militants including military commanders and destroying 10 mortars launchers that belonged to the group.”
“The Peshmerga forces have approached central Mosul up to 17 km.”
“The mission of the Peshmerga will be to provide assistance for the Iraqi Army as entering into Mosul,” Mumozini added.
