Maliki wraps up U.K. visit Sun., flies to France

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and his accompanying delegation wrapped up a visit to the United Kingdom on Sunday and are flying to France for a two-day official visit, according to a cabinet statement. “The recent bombing attacks in Baghdad are not a source of concern. The days of the past will never return. These criminal acts are just trying to play on the sensitive chords of sectarianism but our security agencies have already infiltrated the terrorists organizations in their depths and will paralyze them using accurate intelligence rather than heavy weaponry,” Maliki was quoted in the statement as received by IraqiNews.com news agency. According to the statement, Maliki met in London on Saturday evening with a large community of Iraqis in the U.K. for three hours and promised to solve the problems they face there. AmR (P)/SR 1
