Iraqi airspace is safe, says Abadi’s Office
(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, Information Office of the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi stated, that the Iraqi government is looking not to let yesterday’s incident be excuse to suspend flights, pointing out that Iraqi airspace is safe, and the government will take all necessary procedures to avoid repeating the incident of the plane belonging to Fly Dubai Company yesterday.
Abadi’s Office spokesman Saad Hadithi said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The Fly Dubai plane accident occurred as a result of the pilot changing the plane’s route because strong winds forced him to do a half cycle outside the plane’s usual route.”
He explained that, “This matter has led the plane to be near the ground and in an unspecified route,” pointing out that, “It was under three gunshots that led to a minor injury in the leg of one of the passengers.”
