Al-Hakim charges Hamam Hamoudi with forming UIA

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Head of the United Iraqi Alliance, Abdulaziz al-Hakim, Wednesday charged MP Hamam Hamoudi with forming the UIA in the upcoming stage, urging Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to cooperate with him. “Al-Hakim called to the return of the national activity of the UIA and assigned Sheikh Hamam Hamoudi to represent and form it and called on al-Maliki to cooperate with Sheikh Hamoudi in the project of activating the Shiite largest bloc,” according to a statement published on the official website of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council (SIIC) received by IraqiNews.com news agency. The UIA keeps 83 seats out of the 275-seat parliament. “The parliament’s current term is about to conclude and all political powers look for the coming term and prepare to take part in it effectively,” the statement added.
