FM’s visit to Tehran to discuss diplomatic files

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari’s visit to Tehran envisages bilateral talks with Iranian officials, Labied Abbawi, the foreign ministry undersecretary for Policy Planning and Bilateral Relations said on Tuesday. “Zebari arrived in Tehran on Tuesday (May 19) upon response from his Iranian counterpart to hold talks with Iranian officials on joint files and diplomatic relations,” Labied Abbawi told IraqiNews.com news agency, noting that the minister will meet with Iranian president. Regarding the statements made by Ali Khamenei, aired by the Iranian television, on the training made by U.S. forces to elements of PJAK (Partiya Jiyana Azada Kurdistanê in Kurdish or Kurdistan Free Life Party) in Kurdistan, Abbawi explained that the foreign minister said “we did not received any message or a protest from the Iranian government on this issue and we do not have any information about it.” SH (P)/SR 1
