Talabani, Barazani meet on political situation

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and President of Iraq’s Kurdistan region Massoud al-Barazani on Wednesday met to discuss parliamentary elections in the northern region and the latest developments on the political scene. “On Wednesday, Talabani and Barazani met in Salah al-Din summer resort to discuss a host of political issues,” according to a statement published on the official web site of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK). The two officials stressed the importance of the strategic agreement between the two Kurdish parties. Talabani heads the PUK, while Barazani head the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP). SS (P)/SR 1
