Security forces control 75% of al-Baghdadi

(IraqiNews.com) The security assistant of Anbar governor Aziz Khalaf al-Tramoz announced that the security forces controlled more than 75% of Baghdadi, calling for the formation of a major operations room to save and help the people there.

Tramoz said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “Security forces of the Army and the police backed by tribal fighters now control more than 75% of Baghdadi (90 km west of Ramadi),” noting that, “Clashes between the ISIS militants and the security forces, that are progressing in the remaining parts of the district, are still ongoing.”

“The police forces and tribal fighters, being the first repelling line confronting ISIS in Baghdadi, are in grave need of weaponry and ammunition,” he added.

Tramoz demanded the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Commerce to form a major operations room to save Baghdadi’s people, and to send food and humanitarian aid immediately.”
