Maliki heads to Iran on private visit

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Saturday headed to Iran on a private visit, an advisor to the premier said. “Maliki will check on the head of the United Iraqi Alliance (UIA), Abdulaziz al-Hakeem, who is currently receiving treatment in a Tehran hospital,” Yassin Majeed told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Maliki will return to Iraq this afternoon,” Majeed noted, adding the premier will not meet with Iranian officials in the Iranian capital.
