Baghdadi people “ate grass” because of ISIS siege, says member of Human Rights Commission
(IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, Human Rights Commission member Bushra al-Obeidi revealed that some of Baghdadi people had to “eat grass” due to the severe shortage of food.
Al-Obeidi said in statements followed by IraqiNews, “The humanitarian situation in Baghdadi is alarming because of food shortages as a result of the siege laid by the ISIS group,” indicating that, “Some people had to eat grass.”
Obeidi added, “Baghdadi did not receive any humanitarian aid in the past days,” noting that, “A small number of families moved to neighboring areas after the entry of ISIS, while the majority was not able to leave.”
