More voters register for Kurdistan local election

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Latest statistics received from the operations directorate show an increase in the number of Kurdish citizens registering to vote in the Kurdistan local election, director of the region’s election administration said on Wednesday. “Until yesterday (June 2, 2009), around 90,808 voters registered to vote,” Hamdiya al-Husseini told IraqiNews.com news agency. “At least 6,379 voters contacted the communication center in this regard,” she added.
