Talabani welcomes Sweden’s participation in Iraq rebuilding

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani on Thursday welcomed Sweden’s participation in the reconstruction of Iraq, according to a presidential release. “President Talabani met on Thursday (June 4) with Swedish ambassador in Baghdad Nicholas Trovia and discussed with him means to boost bilateral relations and welcomed the participation of Swedish firms in the campaign to rebuild Iraq and launch investments in the country,” read the release as received by IraqiNews.com news agency. Trovia, for his part, voiced his country’s wish to strengthen friendly relations with Iraq and support the country’s fledgling democracy. “Sweden is planning to open a consulate in the Iraqi Kurdistan region in a bid to cement cooperation,” Trovia said in statements.
