Talabani heads to Iran to inquire after Hakim’s health

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal al-Talabani on Saturday will head to Iran to check on the head of the Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council (SIIC), Abdulaziz al-Hakeem, who is currently receiving treatment in a hospital in Tehran. “The president is scheduled to pay a private visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran today,” a media source from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) told IraqiNews.com news agency. The source did not indicate whether Talabani will meet with Iranian officials during the visit.
