Iraqi army asks Kurdish parties to evacuate HQs in Jalawlaa – official

DIALA / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi army has asked the Kurdish parties to evacuate their headquarters in Jalawlaa upon instructions from the central Baghdad government, an official of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in the district said on Thursday. “The deadline given by the Iraqi forces for the Kurdish parties to evacuate Jalawlaa headquarters are due to expire within several days,” Amer Rifaat told IraqiNews.com news agency. “We’ve notified the official authorities in the Iraqi Kurdistan region and we are awaiting orders and instructions from them,” Rifaat said. Jalawlaa, 30 km southwest of Khanaqin district, lies 155 km northeast of the city of Baaquba. He stressed that the Kurdish parties “will not evacuate their headquarters in Jalawlaa only upon orders from the Kurdistan leadership”. Baaquba, the capital city of Diala province, is 57 km northeast of Baghdad. AmR (P) 2
