Hungary to send troops to Iraq to join fight against ISIS
(IraqiNews.com) On Monday, Hungary’s Prime Minister Victor Orban said his government will ask the Parliament to authorize sending army troops to join the international coalition against ISIS in the ongoing fight in Iraq and Syria.
During his meeting with Hungarian diplomats, Viktor Orban said that participating in the international coalition against ISIS with Hungary’s western allies would bring prestige and recognition to the country’s foreign policy.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has also said that, based on a request from the United States government, Hungary would be able to send 100 to 150 army troops to work with German and Italian forces in northern Iraq.
