Egyptian bus accident kills at least 35

International (IraqiNews.com) AT least 35 people have been killed after a bus in which they were riding plunged into a canal in Giza near Cairo, medical officials say.

THE victims were workers from a private construction company, the officials added.

It was not immediately known how many people were inside the bus.

The accident occurred after several vehicles crashed on the road, leading the bus to plunge into the canal, witnesses said.

Fatal road accidents are relatively common in Egypt and have often been blamed on poor driving and bad roads.

Nearly 13,000 people die and 60,000 are injured every year on the country’s roads, according to official figures. /End/
