Anbar police free kidnapped child, arrest 2 suspects

ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: Anbar’s Special Missions force personnel freed a child kidnapped by a “criminal gang” and arrested two suspects in the western part of the province on Friday, the force commander said. “The child, who had been kidnapped 25 days ago in an area that lies 18 km in western Anbar, was set free and two suspected kidnappers arrested in a raid conducted upon intelligence tip-offs,” Col. Saad Mohammed told Iraqi News. “The child, the son of an engineer in the province, was kidnapped by a gang for purposes of ransom taking,” he said. The predominantly Sunni province of al-Anbar lies 110 km west of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
