BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A “terrorist” network planning to carry out a large number of blasts was arrested in Baghdad, the official spokesperson for Baghdad Operations Command (BOC) said Saturday. General Qassim Atta also said that the network members admitted that they are directly linked to the “dissolved Baath Party.” “The network plotted to create chaos,” Atta told Iraqi News. “The network members were assigned by the dissolved Baath Party to carry out those attacks,” he said. Atta did not mention further details, but said that after Wednesday’s bloody attacks in Baghdad, the Iraqi Commander in Chief – Primier Nouri al-Maliki ordered the formation of a security cell to follow up on this issue, and that the cell was able to reach essential leads that helped to arrest the network.
