Parliament votes on draft decision to respond to U.S. Congress project
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Saturday the Iraqi Parliament voted on a draft decision by the Iraqi National Alliance to respond to the recent draft law in the American Congress that aims to directly arm the Kurds and Sunnis in Iraq without dealing with the federal government.
A parliamentary source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “Today the House of Representatives voted on a draft law provided by the Iraqi National Alliance to respond to the recent draft law in Congress, while the Iraqi Forces Coalition and The Democratic Patriotic Alliance of Kurdistan (DPAK) walked out of the session over disagreement on the decision.”
The source, who requested to remain anonymous, added, “The draft decision implies that the Parliament rejects the U.S. Congress project to deal with the components of the Iraqi people away from the federal government and considers the project an intervention in the internal affairs of Iraq.”
