Head of Iraqi Scholars Group Mullah Khalid survived an assassination attempt south of Tikrit

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the office of the head of Iraqi Scholars Group, Mullah Khalid, said on Friday that the latter has survived from an assassination attempt in a militant attack that targeted his convoy south of Tikrit.

The source said in an interview to IraqiNews.com, “The Mullah’s convoy was subjected to a militant attack in al-Ishaqi area south of Tikrit upon the return from a visit to Salahuddin province to commemorate the Quranic forum, which was held at the place where Speicher massacre occurred.”

The source, who asked to remain anonymous, added: “The attack caused no human casualties.”
