(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – According to a local source in Nineveh province, ISIS has blown up a strategic bridge west of Nineveh, pointing out that the terrorist organization prevented the people to leave the province.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “At dawn today, ISIS blew up the bridge of al-Ayadih district that connects the areas of Sinjar, Rabia and Zammar, (50 km west of Nineveh),” explaining that, “The bombing was by a truck carrying large quantities of explosives, what caused the collapse of a large part of the bridge.”

The source, who requested to remain anonymous, added, “The bridge is an important link between western Nineveh areas and the center of the city of Mosul; it is one of the most strategic bridges in the province.”
