Abadi heads to Moscow on an official visit

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi began on Wednesday evening an official visit to the Russian capital Moscow to discuss bilateral relations and Russia’s support for Iraq in the field of armament, intelligence and the enhancement of security and military capabilities.

Iraqi state television said in breaking news followed by iraqiNews.com, “Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi went to Moscow on an official visit.”

The Office of the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced on May 10th 2015 that the latter will visit Moscow soon at an official invitation sent to him by Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss bilateral relations and Russia’s support for Iraq in the field of armament, intelligence and enhance the security and military capabilities in Iraq.

The Kremlin announced on Monday (18 May 2015), that Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet next Thursday with Abadi, noting that the two sides will discuss ways to strengthen the mutual relations in the energy sector.
