Badr militia announces the death of 70 ISIS militants in west of Samarra
(IraqiNews.com) Salahuddin – On Tuesday, Badr militia announced the liberation of 27 square kilometers in west of Samarra and the killing of 70 ISIS militants during clashes in the district.
Commander of Badr’s 6th brigade, Mohammed Abbas, stated in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “Joint forces, consisting of army troops, federal police elements and al-Hashed al-Sha’bi fighters are still advancing into the western areas of Samarra,” noting that, “The forces managed to liberate 27 square kilometers and hold ground in north al-Nabai and northwest of Sayed Gharib.”
Abbas added, “The forces also managed to kill around 70 ISIS militants and destroy 9 vehicles.”
Earlier today, a security source in Salahuddin province revealed , that the Iraqi security forces backed by volunteers had shelled an ISIS headquarters in the district of al-Ishaqi south of Tikrit.
