Iraqi Parliament dismisses Nineveh’s governor
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Thursday the Iraqi Council of Representatives voted by majority to dismiss the governor of Nineveh, Ethyl Najafi, from his post, after an altercation between a number of Council members on the background of the vote.
A parliamentary source said in an interview with IraqiNews.com, “The House of Representatives voted by a majority of the present members on the dismissal of Nineveh’s governor Ethyl Najafi.”
The parliament hall has seen on Thursday the occurrence of an altercation between the MP from the Union of Iraqi Forces Talib al-Mi’mari and MP for the province of Nineveh, Abdul Rahman al-Wilzi, due to the recent demand of parliament to vote on the dismissal of Najafi.
