Kidnapper, killer of taekwondo team arrested
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The U.S. army in Iraq said in a release on Monday that it arrested a gunman accused of being involved in kidnapping and killing the members of the Iraqi taekwondo team in 2006. The army said that the operation was carried out by a U.S.-Iraqi combined force to hunt down the gunman involved in the incident that took place around three years ago between the two cities of Falluja and Ramadi, west of Baghdad, on the highway that links the Iraqi capital to the Jordanian, Amman. The statement issued today by the U.S. army did not mention where the arrest took place. The dead bodies of the 13 Iraqi athletes who composed the team were found after that buried near Falluja city.
