Cop, civilians injured in Baghdad bombing

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: One policeman and three civilians on Monday were wounded in an explosive charge blast in downtown Baghdad, according to an Iraqi police source. “A roadside improvised explosive device (IED) detonated on al-Nidal St., downtown Baghdad, while a police patrol vehicle was passing the location, wounding a patrolman and three civilians who were close to the scene of the blast,” the source told Iraqi News. The bombing caused damage to several patrol cars, the source noted. Security forces sealed off the scene of the blast, while ambulances rushed the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment, the source added. SS (P) 1
