Major fire erupts in popular market in central Najaf

(IraqiNews.com) Najaf – On Monday, a source within the police force in al-Najaf province stated, that a major fire erupted in a popular market in central al-Najaf.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, informed IraqiNews.com, “This afternoon, a major fire erupted in in a popular market near Thawrat al-Ashrin area in central al-Najaf,” pointing out that, “The blaze has spread entirely in a number of shops as well as market stalls.
The source also added, “The civil defense teams have run into the area of the fire in order to extinguish the flames,” noting that, “The fire had only caused material losses.”
