Kurdish fighters expel ISIS from Kobani after fierce clashes, says SOHR
(IraqiNews.com) The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) announced Saturday, that the People’s Protection Units (YPG) managed to foil an ISIS attack on Kobani after clashing with ISIS elements and destroying a hospital building that was used as a station for them in Kobani.
According to a report by Sky News Arabia, SOHR said: “Today, violent clashes erupted between Kurdish fighters and militants belonging to ISIS in the Syrian city of Kobani alongside the the borders with Turkey,” noting that, “The clashes resulted in expelling the militants from the city.”
The report added, “The hospital of Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in Kobani, which was used by ISIS militants as a station point, was detonated after booby-trapping it by Kurdish fighters.”
Last week, SOHR said violent clashes between Kurdish fighters and the ISIS militants broke out near the border of Morshid Binar and Kobani City, located on the Syrian-Turkish borders.
