ISIS controls strategic city in the province of Homs in central Syria
(Iraqinews.com) Baghdad – Syrian opposition sources reported on Wednesday night that the so-called ISIS has dominated a strategic city in the province of Homs in central Syria, after fierce battles against the government forces.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that “ISIS fully dominated the city of al-Karyatain located in the south-eastern of Homs, after violent clashes against the government forces and militants loyal to them.”
The city of al-Karyatain has a strategic importance, because it is located on the road linking the ancient city of Palmyra, which was dominated by the organization on May 21st and Kalamoon in the eastern province of Damascus.
