Speaker of Iraqi parliament demands Abadi to dismiss “corrupt” ministers
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Monday the speaker of the Iraqi parliament, Saleem al-Jubouri, called the Prime Minister Haydar al-Abadi for the dismissal of a number of ministers, who are found guilty of corruption in the context of government reforms package.
Jubouri said in a press conference after a meeting with leaders of political blocs, “The House of Representatives will determine clearly the names or institutions for the purpose of accountability for the involvement of corruption.”
Jubouri added, “we will go directly in an interrogation process fulfilled all the necessary legal requirements, so we asked the Prime Minister to dismiss a number of ministers who are found guilty of corruption and dereliction clearly.”
Jubouri called the heads of political blocs to support the political reform paper presented by the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi in a response to popular protests against corruption.
