We managed to encircle Ramadi completely, says Defense Minister

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi announced on Wednesday, that the security forces were able to encircle the entire city of Ramadi.
Obeidi said in a speech during his visit to the College of Army Staff in Rustumiya district in Baghdad attended by IraqiNews.com, “The security forces of the army, police, and al-Hashed al-Shaabi were able to encircle Ramadi completely,” noting that “the first phase of cleansing Ramadi has been completed.”
Obeidi added that “the second phase of the process of cleansing the city of Ramadi has begun today,” indicating that “those forces will move cautiously because of the large number of improvised explosive devices and snipers from ISIS terrorist organization.”
The Joint Special Operations Command announced on Monday (July 13, 2015) the launch of liberation operations of Anbar province, indicating that the security forces are progressing towards the goals set in the province.
