Washington hails Abadi’s reforms, offers help in the production of electricity
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The United States of America praised on Monday evening the last reformist steps of the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, affirming its full support for the reforms, while expressed willingness to send experts to help increase the efficiency and the production of electricity.
Abadi’s office said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “al-Abadi met in his office on Thursday evening US Assistant Secretary of State Brett McGurk.”
According to the statement, McGurk praised “the reform packages of the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and expressed full support and readiness of the United States of America to stand with Iraq, especially on the subject of electric power file, in addition to sending experts to help increase the efficiency and the production of the electrical system.”
The statement added, “The meeting also discussed the military training, arming and increasing the ability of the Iraqi armed forces, in addition to praising the victories achieved against ISIS gangs and help in the reconstruction of the liberated areas.”
