Gunmen, cops killed in clashes with U.S. forces in Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Two gunmen were killed during clashes with the police after a group of armed men had opened fire on a U.S. chopper in western Mosul, a security source said on Monday, adding that two policemen were also killed in the incident. “The incident occurred near Tal Abta district, western Mosul at a late hour last night,” the source told Iraqi News. “Police personnel, which were deployed at the police, engaged with the gunmen and killed two of them,” the source explained. The source had told Aswat al-Iraq that the U.S. chopper killed a gunman and arrested another. No comment was immediately available from the U.S. side.
