(IraqiNews.com) The armed wing of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) announced on Saturday the killing of 49 Turkish security elements during armed clashes in several regions in Turkey.

The PKK said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “During the past few days, armed confrontations between us and the Turkish military as well as the Turkish police forces resulted in killing 49 Turkish soldiers and policemen,” pointing out that,” “The confrontations were spread throughout the areas of Dersim, Tutwan, Julmirk and Hernakh.”

The statement read, “Big material losses were inflicted upon Turkish forces in these operations.”
