IED blast near Mosul leaves no casualties

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: An improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Talafar district, causing no casualties, a local security source said on Saturday. “Last night, an explosive charge detonated behind the public hospital in al-Muthanna neighborhood, northern Talafar district (60 km northwest of Mosul), causing no casualties,” the source told Iraqi News. The blast caused damage to a number of nearby houses, the source noted. Iraqi army forces sealed off the scene of the blast, but no arrests have been made thus far, the source added. Talafar district lies 60 km northwest of Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, which lies 405 km north of Baghdad. SS (P) 1
