ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani congratulated Massoud Barzani for being reelected as president of the Kurdistan region and all new members of the parliament, asserting that they will play a historic role in boosting the country’s national unity. Addressing the opening session of the 3rd legislative term of the Kurdistan ‘s parliament, Talabani said the ” Kurdistan region will play its historic role in boosting the Iraqi national unity and in fostering the federal democratic system.” “All Iraqis have to boost our national unity to foil conspiracies against our country,” the president said. “Today’s session is being held after a bloody day in Baghdad . They are crimes which are increasing as the coming parliamentary elections and the U.S. withdrawal approach. The criminals are proving their enmity to the Iraqi people,” Talabani said.
